Brel : Amsterdam

Nice! I didn't understand a word of it, but it's still nice.

Melancholy song, perhaps about a guy who mistakenly shot his dog or something, I'd guess.

I don't know how Amsterdam fits in, though. I envision a border collie. Perhaps his name was Amsterdam.

Well it is a song about dutch sailors in the port of Amsterdam, singing, drinking beers and eating fish and chips, dancing with girls and spliting into the sea...
No dogs involved... ;-)

Vocals are just fine and I love the change in strum after the first section.
You know I'm going to claim some small part in getting you to post these vocal items don't you?

I couldn't understand why I was asking about the song when you had explained it in the previous post but I see we had posted our replies at the same time.
Not sure what "...spliting into the sea" means though.
