I have a lot of original songs that sit around with the lyrics half-finished for decades before something motivates me to finish them. It took a combination of the Canada and "It's a Fact" themes in the Seasons of the Ukulele to complete this song that was inspired by a 1991 trip to Newfoundland. This song tells the story of Demasduit, who was one of the last of Newfoundland's Beothuk Indians.
