Sourcing wood in the UK

I'm looking to build my first ukulele but I'm having trouble finding appropriately cut wood. All I can find is wood cut for guitar/bass/lute/et al. and I don't want to have to recut it. I don't drive so really it has to be somewhere I can order online and UK based to avoid massive shipping costs; any suggestions?

Yes, try Pete Howlett, Rob Collins or Stuart Longridge. Pete is a regular here, Rob can be found on his tinguitar website and Stuart is easily found on Google. All three are top chaps.
