MP [Mike Pereira] custom tenor ukulele
The back and sides are Bubinga and the top is sinker
redwood. Fingerboard, bridge, bindings and rest of the
trim is E.Indian Rosewood and all the purflings {soundhole
neck & headstock]are Maple.

Tuners are nickle 5 Star Planetary pegs by Stewmac,[ with
the ebony knobs they are almost $100 shipped alone] 4:1
planetary gearing. will include original pearlescent knobs

number 149 with a build date of Sept. 2012.

I am the 2nd owner and the original owner must have been
quite a strummer as there are some strum marks on
the top upper bout .
I talked with Mike, and he said, "It has the same Tru-oil
finish as the Mahogany/Cedar. The difference is that I
buffed out the last few ukes I did with that finish...I
have since switched over to a UV cured Polyester finish.
It could be fixed by sanding it back down to get rid of
the effected areas, putting more finish on it then
rebuffing it."

other than that there is a small cloudy spot with a drip
coming off it on the top and a couple slight cloudy spots
on the headstock. a few minor scratches here and there.I tried to show all these imperfections
in the pics.

It came to me strung with Aquila and I put some low G
Ko'oalau Alohi with 2 wound bases on, as I like these for
fingerpicking.

This is my 2nd MP, and it is a great looking and sounding
uke. the combination of woods produces a lot of volume and
a great tone. I'll put up a Sound sample later.
comes with a nice brown HSC. I don't know the brand.

Mike must be busy as his website says he is not taking any new orders. His base tenor is now $1050, then add for the bottom binding, purfling, tuners, case. I'll sell this for $525 + actual shipping. price drop. $500shipped

I'm selling because I'm moving and I'm trying to get down to a half dozen. The close ups make the imperfections look worse than they are. If you are not 100% satisfied, money chearfully refunded - shipping fees.

the top and back are darker in real life, and the top is not blotchy, but what you are seeing in the pic is curl [ I don't know the right word] the back and sides also have it.

here's what it sounds like

Can we get a smiley for a long, low whistle that means, "man, that is absolutely beautiful"?

Stretch it out to a baritone and I'm your buyer (why doesn't Mike offer baritones?); otherwise, good luck with the sale.

That is a sweet uke for an amazing price. If it's not gone by the end of the day, I'll be stunned.

I have a wonderful Redwood-topped MP as well but the back is extra special (see picture). Mike told me he's working for National Guitars again so maybe that's why his ukulele-building time is currently limited.

Good luck with your sale. This is an incredible price for a great builder's instrument!

wow Newkid, that's some crazy nice grain on the back. hard to tell the wood species. what is it? cherry?

Hi strumsilly, the back and sides are Walnut from a tree in Northern California that Mike Pereira cut down himself. I call it my "Hound Dog" uke because that's what Mike saw first when he book matched the back.

I see a scary monster. :D

Seriously? This is still here? If I had ANY money to buy a uke, this would be mine.

That's a nice lookin uke but you can't really here it well in the video you posted. How about a sound sample dedicated to the uke without the singing...nothing personal!

It is marked "Private." You need to change the permissions. :(

ok, done. I wasn't real proud of it and didn't want anyone subscribed to my channel to be subjected to it. ha, I just listened to it and I hummed , sorry, I can't help it. I can try later with my mouth taped shut. and with these strings it sounds better picked. that can be changed. I can string it with a high G or include one.
