Hello UU'rs . . .

As you know, there is no remedy when U.A.S. hits.
I find myself strangely intrigued with the Gretsch Band Camp for reasons I cant explain.
The only thing that worries me are the frets. I cant find anything on how the neck is constructed other than Nato wood.
It cant be the frets are built into the fingerboard like a Fluke, can it ??
Even thought its relatively cheap, I dont want to throw money away on a wall hanger.
Has anyone actually played or seen one of these, offer an opinion ???
Thanks in advance --

Played one in a store. If the original had sentimental value for you, well this is your big chance. If you are looking for a new uke... um, not sure why anyone would want one of these except as decoration. Having said that, the rest of the Gretsch uke lineup has been outstanding. Their laminates are the best laminate ukes I've played, particularly the tenor and the resonator. Super value.

Some cool vintage ones regularly on the bay. Some of those sound good.

I wonder how they compare with the ones that Mahalo made not so long ago.
