I really enjoy clawhammer ukulele and it probably accounts for ~30% of my playing these days. I am curious what uke sizes and tone woods work best for this configuration. I generally use a concert for clawhammer just because my tenor has a low G on it but i think the higher tension on a tenor allows me to play a little faster and crisper. I have no idea what ukes are best for this and would love to hear your advice.

I prefer to use a soprano for clawhammer.

folks play clawhammer on all sizes. Just get the one that feels best in your hands for that style. I just bought a little soprano because I find it easier for Formby style. My other banjo uke is a concert, which is what I like for clawhammer....a little more room for me. Big hands, fingers, maybe a tenor would feel better.
