Just another cookie tin uke amongst the wattles

I like the look of that but I wonder why most tin based instruments makers don't seem to taper the neck at all. It would make the whole thing look sleeker wouldn't it?

This one does have a slight taper, from 39mm at the nut, to 48mm at the body, but I am guessing that the main reason cigar box and tin based instruments in general have no taper is because the neck is usually a straight bit of dressed 2 by 1, in keeping with the home made and scrounged nature of such objects.

One of these days I may even resort to using eye bolts with wing nuts as tuners for a real home made look.

My apologies, the photo does not really do that amount of taper justice.

Sweet! How does it sound?
