WOOT! My wife surprised me this morning for our anniversary with a vintage Giannini baritone, and a new set of Martin M630 strings.
I been playing the heck outta it all day. What an amazing uke. It's heavier than the rest of my ukes, solidly built, and plays like a dream. The linear strings are little odd for me - I play a set of Living Water High D strings on my other baritone.
I contacted Giannini in Brazil to ask if they could tell me when it was built based on the serial #. It was late when I contacted them so no word yet.
If you get a chance - play one. That's all I can say about that.
