Do you actually bar the whole fretboard?

Okay, for example:

Bmaj - 4322

Do you guys bar just the two notes (on E and A), or the whole fretboard?

It kind of depends on the chord I'm coming out of or going into next. But usually, for myself, I find that particular chord easier to play not barring.

For that particular shape, no I don't bar. But other shapes, like the F shape, I do. Just depends.

If I think about it.. sometimes with or without barre.. mostly with, but if its some sort of movable chord, or chromatic move then I'll hold the full barre. I guess its a habit.?

Personally for that Chord (Bmaj - 4322) I would bar the 2nd fret with my index(pointer) finger and put my middle finger on the c string 3rd fret and my ring finger on the G string 4th fret.

I bar the whole darn thing, for some odd reason I"ve never been able to do it the other way.

It's funny you ask actually.

For Bb and B I do bar, but for C, D and on up I do not. I play it 1123.

Just do whatever is most comfortable for you.
