I personally did not think Artichoke Music was that great. Wonderful store and atmosphere but only had like three or four Ukuleles and I think most if not all were Flukes.
Portland Music was decent. I went to the Broadway acoustic store recently. They had maybe 10-12 ranging from Fender, Lanakai and a Kamakala.
For number of ukuleles we had a lot of luck at Trade Up Music. They have two locations but I preferred the north store. They had a great selection of Oscar Schmidt, Kala and Lanakai. I liked the room they had them all in.

Wow great I really appreciate it. Just landed in portland
The Twelfth Fret on SE Belmont, while mainly a guitar shop, had some ukes during the last month, including a Martin Soprano. Also, Vintage Guitars International LLC in Lake Oswego (south of Portland on I-5) carries Kanile'a and Cordoba. Best of luck.
