I have craved a Collings ever since I first played a UT3 K, and through a series of events, including discovering the value of some old electric guitars I never play any more and finding a used UT2 K, I was able to get one yesterday. I have never been as excited about a new uke as I was with this one, doing the old refresh-the-FedEx-status-page-every-10-minutes routine for a few days.
This puppy plays like a dream. I actually have to play it differently than any of my other ukes, since it is so responsive and subtle in the sounds it makes. It plays as easily up the neck as in open position. I’ve only played it for a couple of hours so far, but I can tell that this instrument is really going to open up new horizons in my uke playing.
