Thought I'd share some music from one of our customers - a fellow named Jeff Pruet.

As you may well know, going north from here, you rapidly run into the country, and almost all the people are americains. Their music is different as well - living in the country, they call it, appropriately, "country music".

Of course we've always liked that kind of sound - we like most anything that sounds good, and if you go far enough north, there's a place called Muscle Shoals. It's a center of this sort of music, but they do it con mucha alma. In the heyday of Fame studios, the country music out of Muscle Shoals was from folks like Clarence Carter, Aretha Franklin, & the Staples Singers - that kind of country.

It's still going strong today - a great scene up there, including a singer with roots from Louisiana named Dylan LeBlanc.

Now the Ukulele has hit town. Jeff's band is called While the Ship Sinks, and he's the rhythm player and heartbeat of a band that plays instrumentals and consists of the Ukulele, a bass, a killer drummer, a mandolin and a squeezebox (we love those down here). Great sound!

Here's a video:

You can even see Dylan LeBlanc skulking around in the background.

Here's a link to a live show last weekend (pretty rough sound and the ukulele is buried - still nice):

These guys are just getting going, and I think there'll be a lot more to hear from them as time goes on. They've got a Facebook page too:

so if you're ever up north (it's really pretty up there in the foothills and lakes) see if you can take in a show!
