View attachment 59172these came on a 1920's martin, they are too long so replaced them. They are real ivory looking to me never seen anything like them. Anybody know?
They are "grained Ivoroid", a celluloid plastic material.
Most celluloid material, is made in Italy, from the beginning, up to today. They make it in many colors, but most instrument stuff is tortoise, white, black, and grained ivoroid.
Stew-mac (Waverly) is reproducing these tuners again, but no ivoroid buttons yet.
