I just finished this tenor for a UU member. The owner, who is in Europe, liked the idea of using woods that are local to me. The body is myrtle and the neck is Port Orford cedar with a walnut stringer. The fretboard, which is English walnut with a particularly nice grain pattern, was soaked in penetrating epoxy after the fret slots were cut. The bridge is of the same piece of walnut. The nut and saddle are unbleached bone. The finish is Tru-Oil. The tuners are Gotoh UPT, which I'm growing very fond of. They are reasonably light, operate smoothly and have just the right ratio for a uke. Tuning is low G and it has a full and deep sound.

Guess I am going to have a NUD soon!!

Can't wait to hold this beauty in my hands.

Thank you David, you did a great job!

Awesome build David!

Good Lord, that is gorgeous and so sweet sounding. Your attention to detail is breathtaking.

Good call on the low G - deep from the big tenor body but bright from the myrtle all at the same time. Very nice.

Looks great.

Another great sounding beauty!

My Ono school uke tenor has the deepest, loudest voice of any uke I have played.

Ooo ... I like it. Great tone and quite the looker! Congrats!

Thanks for the nice comments, folks!

It's doubled boxed and ready to go. On to the next project.

I know I'm late, but I wanted to share a few pics of the build-in-progress :) David sent me:

Yes brother, welcome to the club! She's a real sweetheart, if it sounds even half as incredible as my long-scale concert then you are in for a treat.

CONGRATULATIONS! :smileybounce:
