I've built a number of solid body electric ukuleles modeled after Fenders and Gibsons, but I wanted to make an original. I designed what I have dubbed the "Wave Electric Ukulele".

The body reminded me of a wave, so I incorporated that theme into the build. The alder body has a nitro Sea Foam Green finish. It has abalone fret markers and abalone on the volume knob.

It has a fanned fretboard. It may not be that necessary to have fanned frets on a uke, but I wanted to try it. The difference between the top and bottom strings is only one inch. The top is 18 inches and the bottom is 17 inches. It is tuned low G, C, E, A.

I'm happy with how this turned out. It's a joy to play. :)

This one is 1.5 inches. Anything in the 1.5" - 1.75" range should work well.
