I've had several Spinners songs stuck in my head this week. Eventually I had to play one of them. And I don't know that I could bring off a single-take version of "Rubberband Man".
Cable TV came to my hometown in Maine in 1971 or 1972. At the time, what that meant was now we could get a couple of UHF channels from Boston and a couple of French-language stations in Sherbrooke, Quebec. And one of those UHF channels carried Soul Train, which I fell in love with. The band I remember most from those shows is the Spinners.
