Great weekend. Got home about 1.5 hrs ago. (Well it was when I started writing this but had a break to eat before finishing off)

Went to Manitoba Hal's and Les Hilton's workshops. Both were excellent but Hal's was spoilt by poor location. I still gained a lot from it though.

Also went to Krabbers "No Mic" open mic. It was held outside just under the town hall. Great for showcasing the uke & giving the locals a taste of what we were about but it was a bit too cold to hang around too long. I left before the end to go to Les Hilton's workshop which was an interesting look at open tuning. We retuned to open G (G B D G) and had a look at some of the possibilities this tuning created. I will almost certainly be retuning one my ukes.

The rest of the day was spent with visiting the bazaar, dipping in and out the performances and otherwise socialising. The performances were generally of a good standard. Manitoba Hal was excellent and for me the highlight was his closing number, his version of "The Thrill is Gone". A superb rendering of classic.

Overall an excellent day.

Will follow up with Sunday when Baz has posted his review.
