G-chord sounds off?

Hey everybody, this is my first time posting on here and it is due to the fact of my ukulele. this is my first ukulele and im not sure if im having a common problem or something that really needs to be taken care of. the G-chord/string(closest to you when playing) sounds really off. i used a chromatic tuner(as shown in the pictures, along with the ukulele). the tuner says it is fine, but when i play it, it sounds off, it has more of a low tune, along with not being as firm as the other strings. i tried tuning it tighter to a higher G(i think), but it still sounds off. that is the only chord that is giving me problems, and the rest sounds fine. could it be that my strings are new and they need some time to stretch? if so do you have recremendations on a string upgrade. thanks a lot for the help

edit: im also planning to do a string upgrade and i need a little advice. are aquila's a good brand for this uke, and what is the difference between all plain strings, and low g strings. do you prefer nylon?

if so these are the strings im planning on purchasing, just gotta decide. either these or, D'Addario

flippnoyballer, string usualy take a awhile to settle, i would just keep re tuning every few hours or days, give it a week. it will settle hopefully. also, MY DOG HAS FLEAs!

:music:New strings on a new uke can be horribly annoying, going out of tune within seconds of tuning. You tune it up and then strumming once can be enough for them to get out of whack. And when you get the new strings, the same thing's gonna happen all over again! Just chillax with it, keep retuning it, play it, tune it, play it some more... wash rinse repeat. I don't bother with string stretches as actually playing the thing will accomplish the stretching AND as an additional bonus, I get to play:music:!

I like the feel of D'addarios. If I were you, and I'm not, I'd get D'addario Pro Arte concerts. And I would NOT get the Low g.

Here is an online tool that I used a lot at first. http://www.get-tuned.com/ukulele_tuner.php . I didn't have a tuner at first, and even after I got one I found the page a little helpful because the tuner gives you the key but not the octave. Get your g string to sound about like the g on that page and use the tuner to dial it in.

It will take some time for your strings to stretch.... I had the Aquila strings on my Kala concert ukulele and when I had my lesson with my ukulele teacher, my teacher upgraded my strings to the D'Addarios Porte Artes for my concert. My Aquilas did nothing for me because it didn't stretch...
