I just learned Sweet Lorraine, working on Freight Train now. How about you?

On Fire -- Troy Fernandez. Man, it's fun.

I almost took a stab at "You Go to My Head" for season 87, but decided to do "Lush Life" instead. I might try another foreign language song, people seemed to like my "Insensatez" by Jobim.

I'd like to do one for the Season of Uke thing- Drinking songs-

called "I puke on My Uke"
where I'd repeatedly spew beef stew
And Other Delights
all over my Badaax uke

but I just don't have the time
chauv rats....

I've been trying to write my own songs recently, so I've been spending a lot of time "noodling" looking for a melody or chord changes that catch my ear. At the same time, I'm going to be performing with the Kapalakiko Hawaiian Music Workshop Band at the Kapalakiko Luau in Newark on Saturday November 9, so we've been rehearsing for that.

"Fly Me to the Moon", as taught by Aaron at The Ukulele Site.

I am also working on "Five Foot Two", as taught by Marcy Marxer.

I'm working on my own music on the uke at the moment. As my band has lost its guitarist, I have been forced to pick up my tenor guitar, abandoning both the uke and the accordion (albeit only as far as the band is concerned); I'm doing "Four Strong Winds" and "Whiskey in the Jar" on the tenor. I suppose the tenor guitar could be seen as a great big ukulele with weird tuning.

Too many songs to list, but Imagine dragons radioactive is my current favorite. I love playing and singing it!

Whiskey before Breakfast (the fiddle tune) hopefully I'll get to learn and record it before season 87 is over

"Habanera" from the opera Carmen for my Martin 2K tenor uke review... man, I just love that song and singing in French!!!

Love Shack and Vincent.
Both of these songs have proven to be more challenging than I expected, but in good ways. :D

I am obsessed with Vincent. Hauntingly beautiful melody. Oh, to be able to really fingerpick, instead of mucking about as I do!

I keep playing these over and over, trying to nail them, by title and arrangement...

When I Fall in Love. Nat King Cole; Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye, Casinos;
Georgia on My Mind, Ray Charles; Teach Me Tonight, Diana Krall.

Today I worked on When Sunny Gets Blue
I've played it for a while, but I want to add more to the uke part.

I just ordered a couple of arrangements from Mike Lynch that are easy on my sore wrists and quite lovely. Today and Moon River.
