D'Addario J65 Strings

I used them on a Zebrawood Soprano. Tuned to D they were nice. I didn't really care for them when tuned to C.

Some people give them rave reviews. I tried them on several ukes and didn't get on with them.

Which all adds to my string mantra - there is no point telling someone string brand x is best. It isn't. The only way to judge is try them yourself. Your own ears, playing style, and your uke have far more bearing on whether you will like a string or not

Anyone used these? How are they, good, bad, indifferent?

They're good , consistent, offer a good balance, they're easy on the fingers, and as already mentioned sound good tuned up to D.

Tuned to C they sound alright but they are a little slack feeling.

In my experience they take a while to settle, and in my opinion, once they start staying in tune from day to day it's time to change them.

Tensions quoted for J65s (D) and J88(C) and J87(C) seem comparable.
Which makes me think their may be some logic behind preferring them in D.
