I got my ukulele

I get that feeling a lot when I buy new instruments aswell!...Until responsibilities kick in :(

I have one of those too. Love the slot head look. Give it 3-6months and it will sound much better.

BTW I like Freemont Black strings on mine
 
Great choice! I hope your monkey pod didn't arrive cracked like Van's previous ones and my one did. My one wasn't too bad though. Like he said, it'll only get better in time :)

In addition to his fremont recommendation, I would also recommend ko'olau golds (really warm sound) or alohis (more trebly than golds but warmer than fremonts).

And mine arrived perfectly intact, and might I add, beautiful
