I know there's one in Port Townsend, Washington-- not sure if that's close enough to BC to be accessible to you.

There is the Vancouver Ukulele Festival. I havn't been myself because my daughter was born a few days before it was held last year, but it looks like they had a good lineup. Quite a long drive from Kimberly though.
