why the C strings is so different in this koolau?

in my ukes, martin, koaloha, etc all the strings look similar, but in all koolau in HMS the strings look strange .... is a mix of strings like 3 fluos and a Aquila in the C?

It's wound C string.

If you looked closely, you would see that the C string is wound with fine metal wire, like this:

as opposed to the other strings, which are probably solid nylon or flourocarbon.
