Has anyone tried a Les Stansell uke?

I have played several of Les's Flamenculeles as he calls them. He is a long time Flamenco guitar builder. He has scaled them down to the dimensions which are proper for a tenor ukulele. They play like a sweet dream anywhere on the fretboard. The sound is mature and full. There is no pinched nasal sound which is how I describe many tenor uke sounds. Fit and finish are as superb as is found on his guitars. His selection of myrtle from southwestern Oregon is absolutely stunningly beautiful. He also uses pistachio wood for the finger board on some of them. It is as hard as ebony, beautifully grained and much more readily available without a need for PHITES certification. Do I have one? I have yet to get one, but I am selling off quite a bit of "the heard" to be able to do it. www.lesstansellguitars.com He is centrally isolated in Pistol River, Oregon. That's about 4miles south of Gold Beach.

Absolutely tried one.. this one in fact :here

I've been lucky to do so- in fact the only reason I managed to is that I helped Les with his website! :p

They are made very light, very responsive and percussive with a full warm tone.... plus the myrtle is super stunning!

Thanks for your comments.... Interesting.
I asked him if he makes concerts but he said he did not have any jigs for concerts yet.

Yes! Les is a reliable builder whom I totally trust. He is super good to deal with.

My ukulele from him is absolutely stunning!

He uses flat fingerboards (in the Spanish Tradition). I've compared his to a radiused fretboard and his is just as easy to play (if not more so).

My ukulele from him with port orford cedar top and myrtle sides and back is gorgeous and sounds great. I highly recommend Les Stansell.

You can check out some of his youtube videos on his ukuleles at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q73MihWNzBM, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcHXG7hlegU, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqKXNeSSD_U
