Well I figured I'd start a new thing. This is the Kamaka Klub!

This is for all of us Kamaka enthusiasts to share our prized 'ukuleles. Pictures, videos, etc. let's make this a Kamaka center for all current (and future!) owners of these grand little instruments. :D

I'll start it off. I own a CONCERT BELL SHAPE DELUXE (HB-2D). It was my first great ukulele and it is still my most prized possession of all time. It was Ohta-Sans signature model uke and not only did I have the pleasure of meeting Ohta-San this summer, but I had him sign my uke as well.

This uke has a very warm/dark sound; unlike any other uke I've ever owned/played. It is now strung with Worth Browns in re-entrant tuning.

Here are some pics:

The master playing the uke. This was such an honor.

So post your Kamaka's, experiences with them and anything else related to the big KK here!

I'm in, My Kamaka I've had for a year, its tenor, no fancy inlays, but its got the rad koa patterns, with its 3rd set of strings, Worth Browns, which I find to be to soft and mellow for this brassy beaute. I'll have to upload some pics later. Great idea by the way!!:worship:

Alright I'm jealous. When does the rival Kanile'a Klub start?

Beautiful ukulele by the way jumpingflea, and what a great honor to have Ohta-San play it.:D

Ha! Epic win for the K.K.!

Everyone who joins the Kamaka Klub should post at least one photo. This could be a really cool deal to see all these Kamaka's! New and old alike!

The inside of that one seems to say something rather special... Gotta mug him on tues and get it for myself! :D

One day, when I have $5000 lying around under the couch, I'll be sure to get one of those. Haha, then again, $5000 is only about one semester of tuition, room and board at UH Manoa. Who needs 4 full yrs of college?

Lia. :D Doesn't have the awesome factor of Jake's, but I don't think I'd trade my little Kamaka for Jake's, given the chance.

Don't mind me. I am just spying on behalf of the Kanile'a club. I must say that the allure of a Kamaka has called out to me on more than one occasion, but I have only seen one in the flesh before, and I didn't get a chance to try it. I do like what I hear in YouTube, poor sound quality and all, just because Kamakas seem so much more "uke-ey" to me than some others. I love my Kanile'a tone, but it just does not call out as quintesentially traditional as a good Kamaka. It has its own thing. It is weird...but I think the TRU bracing on the Kanile'a is amazing, but somewhat guitar like.
