Hi All

Not sure if this has been covered in these forums, but I couldn’t find it on a cursory glance.

I have a new 8 string Tenor and it seems to me that the Low G (8th string) holds it’s not too long. So for example if I am play the string as part of the F chord and then move to a G or C chord the note is still present from the original F chord and sounds pretty rubbish. Is it just me or has anyone else found this and if so what’s the fix.

I have a set of Aquila Tenor 8 stirngs on my Uke

Thanks in advance.

You need to practice left and right hand muting:

Use the edge of your picking hand to kill notes and also use excess fretting hand finger meat to kill notes.

Before lifting your finger completely off the G string to change chords, lift your finger up a little while keeping it in contact with the G strings to mute those strings.
