Skylark Uke Owners Club

I bought a Skylark tourist model in Hawaii back in ’94, you know the one with the palm trees and rainbow that says Hawaii. Paid like $12 for it. It laid around my office since then and I only recently started playing the uke seriously a few weeks ago. Same old strings, no changes to it.
Knowing it’s a toy, I figured I would get a better beginner uke, so I obtained a new Lanikai LU-21P pineapple ukulele, mahogany veneer with Aquila strings. MY OLD SKYLARK SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD AS THIS NEW LANIKAI! Had I any idea that my Skylark was as good as a Lanikai, I would have just stuck with that.

I just joined the Skylark owners club too! I found one in my local charity shop for £10. It seems like it might be playable. I'll find out later when I have time to string it up.

I was given one years ago. It was kinda rough, I cleaned it up, put new strings and a setup on it and gave it to a little girl who was itching to play an ukulele.
