Didn't know Sailor made koa ukes. Have never seen one on UR's website. Was it a special order?

If the attachment feature isn't working, go to tinypic.com and upload your photo there. When it's done, copy and paste the IMG code here.

That koa came out gorgeous! The hand laid marquetry is most excellent too. :)

Great. Now I want a Sailor. If the family can just make it through Christmas without eating (or getting any presents), I may be giving Mike a call...

I have a sailor soprano and love that uke. The neck is the best (MY opinion). I am tempted to get a tenor also. It looks like you got the cream of the crop there. Congratulations. I too am waiting to hear the answer: "was it a special order?"

Yes it was a special order. All koa with black binding and hand laid maple and ebony marquetry, ebony fret board and bridge, with koa head and black button machine tuners. It sounds wonderful and I agree about the neck being awesome also. it has a fast neck

My family and I visited mikes store in June and I really loved the sailor brand uke's he had but I wanted something that kinda commemorated my military service and the rope marquetry with the anchor in the headstock with all koa just sounded nautical, I had some pretty lofty expectations and when I received the uke the quality and appearance blew me away and mike was great to work with.
