Monday was my granddaughter's 12th b-day. I pulled her aside and we learned how to pick happy birthday.

Then I gave her a choice of a $20 gift card or a ukulele. She picked a light blue burst Makala Dolphin. What fun!

Congrats to your granddaughter on her new uke, that's the age to start playing, good luck.

Can't go wrong with a blue dolphin!

Glad she chose it. You now have a new jammin' buddy!

Hope you two make some great music together.

What fun! Can't wait for my grand kids to play!

Congrats! A well set up dolphin is great for her age. And its exciting to help kids find an interest. I wish I had been introduced to ukuleles at that age!

My younger daughter is 6 and a half now taking piano lessons. She started in late July but with some breaks. Sometimes she will grab a ukulele and pick the melody on it from her piano music, I only helped her with the first song and she uses all 4 strings. On piano she just started working on playing both hands together, beyond just playing one chord on her left hand.

Thanks. That's the great thing about the uke, we can pick simple songs and start playing.
