That was the design brief.

This is what I came up with - English sycamore back/sides, German spruce top, ebony fretboard, bridge, head veneer. The lady I built this uke for has some amazing mermaid & pirate tattoos, linked together with patterns of stars & dots, so I went for a random scatter of MOP and abalone stars and dots on the ebony.

Nice looking uke. Maybe it would seem more piratey with some grog
