i need a first song to learn i can play sweet child o ine but thats it i need a easy first song are to help :):):)

EDIT: In case the chord positions don't display correctly: Start with D. Strum with each word. With the final word of the first line, switch to A7. Switch between the two chords with the final word of each line. As you get the hang of it, add a couple strums of the [new] chord just prior to singing the next line. *******HO

This one is good for a beginner. There are only two simple chords, they switch at the end of each line, and the lyrics help you keep time with strumming. I added the final verse for my first recital.

Jambalaya

D****************************A7
Goodbye, Joe, me gotta go, me-oh-my-oh

******************************** D
Me gotta go pole the pirogue down the bayou

***********************************A7
To see Yvonne, the sweetest one, me-oh-my-oh

**********************************D
Son-of-a-gun, we’ll have big fun, on the bayou

**chorus**
Make Jambalaya, crawfish pie, and fillet gumbo
‘Cause tonight I’m gonna see moin chere, moin fille-oh
We’ll pick guitar, fill fruit jar, and be gay-oh
Son-of-a-gun, we’ll have big fun, on the bayou
****

Settle down, far from town, get me a pirogue
I’m gonna catch all of the fish down at the bayou
Swap some one, to buy Yvonne what she need-oh
Son-of-a-gun, we’ll have big fun, on the bayou

Recitals, can be brutal, don’t we all know
Gotta hear someone else’s kid play trombone
Or an old guy, with ukulele, and bad vocals
But son-of-a-gun we’re havin’ big fun at recital
[chorus]
