Aloha,

I am in Maui for several days and thinking....guess what...I need a new uke. Any recommendations on where to look that is reputable around here???

Mahalo!

Hey Stan.... I don't have that kind of time. Otherwise I'm all over that kind of thing!

Bounty Music in Kahului..
get a Maui Music by Peter Lieberman and you will be set...

You can also try Mele Ukulele
-like at Bounty, Mele has a lot selection!
( & they also have a good selection of uke books :)
I was also just there last month

The two main retail ukulele spots on Maui are Bounty Music in Kahului ( http://www.bountymusicmaui.com ) and Mele Ukulele in Wailuku ( http://www.meleukulele.com ). Both are good--I especially like Mele. There is a also a small store in Lahina.

Mele Ukulele carries mostly Mele Ukuleles and Bounty carries most brands K's, Pono, Kala

They are only a few miles apart.

Good Luck
Terry

I was on Maui last winter and stopped by Bounty...great selection of ukes, especially if you're looking for one of the K's. Even played with a 6-string Kamaka. Lahaina music is alright, they didn't have a big selection when I was there.

In Maui...Lahaina Music, Mele Ukulele and Bounty. All places are great and I have bought from all three!!

Aloha, I am in Maui for several days and thinking....

What are you doing that for! :)

I wandered into Bounty last time I was there and ended up walking out with a nice MM Deluxe Tenor. I have made a commitment not to go in there next month while we're there. well, maybe just to waste a little time before Jake's concert.....

Alas....spent a lovely week but never did go shopping. Best of intentions, but the beach beckoned!
