I've wanted one for over ten years, but never were able to actually buy one, because they were custom shop Fenders of $3500,-, but now that Squier makes them, I have finally laid my hands on a mighty fine Bass VI.

Some people think of it as a baritone guitar, but as a bass player I consider it to be a bass with a few added guitar like possibilities. Basically it's a bass with two higher strings making a E to E instrument, but a full octave below a normal guitar.

I plan to give the BassVI a refine in Burgundy Mist. Custom LaBella flat wounds are on their way.

It's gorgeous, Michael.
We're so lucky that Squier is doing these classic re-issues.
The flatwound strings will be a real improvement.

I couldn't resist picking up a Surf Green Squier Jaguar last year.
I threw away the factory strings, filed the nut slots a bit, and fitted it with a set of D'Addario flats, and it's a keeper.
Bought it just before these came out, I'm thinking I need a Bass VI in Olympic White to keep it company.

My favorite custom paint job on a Bass VI is the one The Fool did for Jack Bruce.
Hey, weren't they Dutch, too?

I was impressed with the Squier. It felt just like my '62 Bass VI.
