Was that some kind of mold he starts off with? At first I thought it was attached to the neck. At what point did he remove it? Before adding the top and after the back had dried, I am guessing. Great to see footage of Senyor Nunes too!

Yeah definitely a jig that is used to clamp first the sides, the bindings and the back. It looked like there might be two pieces, then once the sides and back are glued and clamped, the internal portion of the jig is removed the top is then glued and clamped with an external wooden caul. They seemed to skip over the neck attachment unfortunately. Still a fascinating video. That enormous chisel he was using to trim the top and back flush looked scary. A steady hand would be required!
