Costco has a Kohala tenor for sale at $200, with 15% off until the end of the month, here. The model is the M1-T.

IIRC Kohala represents the super-bedget end of the Lanikai/Hohner family, sort of like Makala is to Kala. I did a pretty cursory search for the M1-T and didn't come up with anything. It looks nice and current with that slotted headstock, but are the the fauxbalone rosette and purfling and ABS binding a bit incongrous with solid wood top/back/sides?

The one review makes it sound like the uke could benefit from a good setup, but is the "problem" the reviewer described more of a personal preference thing? I just measured on my uke, and it's 1/8" from the slot for the first string to the edge of the nut. Maybe he's talking about somewhere further down the fretboards?

Anyway, has anyone else gotten their hands on this ukulele and can offer an opinion? Thanks in advance.
