What is the Peghed story?

I looked up Pegheds on E-bay..and drew a blank.......But! I came up with the same type of tuners under the name "Knilling PerfectionTuners" from USA..and also "Perfection Tuners" from Germany......Have they dropped the Peghed monica ?

Chuck Herron's Pegheds website might provide you with more information, although the site is poorly developed IMHO. Chuck lists himself as inventor of Pegheds, but they to seem to be closely aligned design-wise to Perfection pegs.

I'm not sure if I remember this 100% correctly but Chuck Herin, the inventor of Pegheds, told me that the Knilling pegs were the result of a business arrangement he had with them that went sour. I'm vague on the details. I am told that the Knilling pegs are made overseas and the quality isn't as good as the original Pegheds. I can't say, I've never worked with the Knillings.
