Here I go again. Don't know what I'm thinkin'. Been a guitar player since the late 60s and recently (Spring 2013) took up the ukulele at the behest of a couple friends here on the forum. As if juggling guitar and uke wasn't enough I've decided to throw a mandolin into the mix.

Actually, I've been a fan of the mandolin since I first heard Bill Monroe & Ricky Skaggs. Just didn't think I could get my hand to work on the eenie-weenie fretboard. When I made the adjustment easily with the uke (and at the urging of those friends) I decided to get me one.

I have no idea how to describe the tone except it has a sweet ring to it and it "chops" really well. It sure is beautiful to look at with the hand carved scrolls, points and "f" holes as well as a gorgeous headstock sporting an abalone fern looking kinda thing.

I certainly can't make it sound like this but here is a video of Sierra Hull playing the same model. Hopefully one day I'll get there!
