I hope it's not blasphemous to talk about this on UU, but does anyone know anything about Jake Shimabukuro's uke nation? Is anyone a member?

Worthless marketing hyoe

In my experience, it's worthless marketing hype.

I signed up with the promise of getting ticketmaster presale tickets to a local show, but the link didn't become active until several days late.
Unless I wanted to drop major coin on "VIP" packages, the seats were no better than I'd have gotten on general public sale.

I just logged in to the site, since I'm a member.
There are exactly two short "exclusive" videos and a small "exclusive" photo gallery.
Oh, and you can watch "Life On 4 Strings" again.
Whoopee.
There's no blog.
No uke lessons.
No forum.
Right here is where it's at for that stuff.

Don't fall for it.
Jake's a lovely guy, but this is not something he's gotten heavily involved in.
Go see him and line up after the show, or buy merch off his regular web site.

Thanks for the advice! I wish he'd come to Virginia Beach!

My wife signed up in anticipation of getting advance sale tickets. We ended up getting a good deal on great seats for his Maui show last year.
