This (http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9342) just popped up here on the fourms. FMM Maketplace (http://www.fleamarketmusic.com/marketplace/default.asp) has a few in your range. Anything from MGM will be good.

That NEW KALA TENOR KA-T from FMM looks pretty good... I have a KA-C and love it

Definitely considering the KA-T. More in my price range without the beginner quality.

Anyone here have any experience with Lanikai?

i had the Lanikai LU-21TE and was identical to my friend's Kala KA-TE in looks, price, quality. it's a great uke.

I'm selling my tenor with solid spruce top.

http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?p=92158&posted=1#post92158

It's practically brand-new with a hard case, extra pack of Aquila strings (it's already strung with Aquilas), pitchpipe, and chord book. It's a nice uke for the money, but I just never got into it the way I thought I would.

I bought mine off of musiciansfriend.com.
It's a lanikai Tenor, and for the price it is awsome.
i bring it everywhere and always get compliments.
I think i payed 100 bucks and got free shipping

I saw Lanikai LU-21TE on Amazon for $129 with Belcat pickup.

I had the LU-21t and it was fine for a while with aquilas. I sold it after about a month because it just sounded a little thin to me. My wife's flea was putting it to shame (sad but true).

If you can save a couple more bucks and get a solid Kala I would do that. Just my opinion.

Kala KA-TE from MGM is a fantastic uke (strung with D'Addario Pro Artes, it absolutely sings). Plus you never know when you'll need the pickup. I know its a bit above your price range but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the long run.
