Hey Gang,
I purchased this gorgeous Uke directly from Southern Cross Banjo Ukulele in New Zealand. This is his deluxe model Gibson UB2 copy Here's luthier Dennis' description:
My second UB2 copy. Body is Maple laminate, Resonator is Birds Eye Maple, neck is American Ash. Headstock is Rosewood as is the fretboard with Ash position markers. Hardware is top quality made in Canada. Tension hoop is a notched 18 hook design hand made in Czechoslovakia.
Tuners are geared planetary style. The head is genuine calf skin vellum for the unique Banjo uke sound, and is fitted with a brass tone ring. The resonator is attached with four brass dowels and is removable for open back playing.
This uke is pretty much brand new, I've since had to divide my time between work and my daughter, so this has amazing banjolele has sat un-played since I got it. It's maybe been played for less than an hour! And since it's such a fine example of Dennis's work, I'm hoping it will finder a better home.
I'm asking $1000.00 OBO
Please email me with any questions.
