Heading to the Big Island for a couple of weeks beginning the weekend of Feb 22. I'm bringing a Canadian team to work on a Habitat for Humanity project in Kona the first week so that's pretty well tied up. But from March 2nd to 7th will just be hanging out so wondering what's up, uke wise.

I think I've pretty well got the shops pinned down- Holualoa Gallery, Hawi Gallery, Just Ukes, Music Exchange.

Any shows or jams (ongoing or one-offs) I might be able to catch in that time period?

Pretty much the same list I came up with last November. I ended up getting an Imua from Hawi Gallery. Very happy with it. Two more shops for your list: Kiernan Music, http://www.kiernanmusic.com (sorta near Holualoa Gallery) and Hilo Guitar, http://www.hiloguitars.com

Also look at the website for the Big Island Ukulele Guild. http://www.bigislandukuleleguild.org

Hawi Gallery has a kanikapila. There's also a weekly kanikaplia in downtown Kona.

The evening of the 22'd there is a Hui Kako'o Concert at Keauhou shopping Center 5:30-7:00 pm.

Lim Family on the 22nd. Should be a good show, bring 2 cans food for food bank for admission!

If you're up in North Kohala Dave Gomes is a builder in Kapa'au and will do shop tours if you call. His brother has a pineapple farm a little further down the road toward Polulu valley lookout, and has a stand down by the road. Best pineapple you'll ever eat! Try the white ones if you get a chance.
