I am looking at StewMac and they have two options as to fret wire that is right (i think!) for a uke, they call it Narrow/Low and Narrow/Medium. Can anyone help me out suggesting the correct wire to select for my first build. Thanks... Bill

Both are valid options. It depends on what you, or the intended player likes in the way of frets. I like small frets but then I play instruments with larger frets and they are fine to.

I prefer #0148 med/med guitar-size wire. It's basically the same height, but about .030" wider. I like the look and feel of this for smaller instruments in general.

I have StewMac's 764, which I've installed on Tiples, but they mostly collect dust. If MGM was still around, eventually he would have me build a Standard, in which case I would probably use the 764. Otherwise, the 147 is ordered by the lb.

Of course, on a handful of builds, they get LMI's Evo Gold 74. Love that stuff.
