Greetings. FS is a Riggio Tenor. I got this from fellow Underground member Craig Turner last summer. It is just not getting much playing time in our guitar / banjo house… It is a fine instrument and deserves to be played. It is SN# 0014 completed on 14 Feb 12. Made in Hawaii. Asking $650. I will cover shipping to CONUS destinations.

Here is what Craig had to say about it – I can’t think of anything to add…

“This is an excellent Riggio tenor ukulele, purchased from HMS last year. It is all koa with ivoroid top binding, black/white rosette, rosewood pin bridge/fretboard. Bone nut and saddle. Grover geared tuners. Nitro-gloss finish, semi-open pore. This ukulele is in excellent condition, not even any strum marks. It plays so smoothly and has a wonderful warm sound while retaining higher note clarity. Action is low and easy. Superb construction. Phil Riggio worked at Kanile'a before beginning his own shop. I am only selling as I am looking at a custom tenor purchase. If you want a lovely traditional Koa sounding Hawaiian style uke, this is a great choice. Includes Oahu hard case. Shipping extra. More pics provided on request.”

Sweet sounding uke! It will make someone really happy.

Authentic, pretty tone. Charmingly offbeat looks. Sent PM.

Since I put this up for sale on the Marketplace I have been playing it more and more. I really like it and have decided to keep it. It has such a sweet tone and projects very nicely. A 'thank-you' to those who PM'ed me and expressed interest.

I sent a note to Phil Riggio yesterday asking if he was still building Ukes. Here is his reply -

"Hey Mike, I still am! I just finished moving my shop again! I love my new spot! Hopefully I won't have to move again for a while. If you would like to see some photos of some recent work text me your phone number and I will forward you a few shots! Thanks again! -Phil"

If you Google "Phil Riggio Ukulele" his Facebook page will come up....

Glad to hear that another small shop builder is back in business and up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Haha, a good decision, Mike! I'm glad you had the time to re-connect to such a fine uke. Best.
