@bazmaz I don't think the samples have been shipped yet. At least I haven't received mine. So maybe there's still a chance he'll send you one since he initially offered to send 20 samples and only picked 5.)

Philip,

I gave you the address in California where I am currently. If the ukulele won't gett here by Monday, April 1 at the latest, the shipping address needs to be my home address in New York State.

Please let me know the status, or have the distributor contact me directly.

Thanks!

Kurt they already shipped it on 25th of Mar and it's tracking number is "794934082484" FedEx Ground service.
Their estimated delivery date is 27th of Mar strange if it's not arrived there yet.
Oh I found it's left at front door of your house.

Thanks
Philip

Yes, our friends at FedEx just left it at the door- neither my wife nor mother-in-law heard a doorbell ring.

I called the folks in Oregon to see how much i owe for shipping, since it was not sent COD. You should also be hearing from them soon.

Strings are stretching - it was almost in tune when it arrived. Cute- and functional - gig bag. Tuners look similar to the ones on my Ohana.

Again, letting the strings stretch- just gave it a quick tune by ear. Strings look like Aquila strings, but not certain.

Some issues with glue, will discuss later. But first impression is that the sound is very, very nice. That's the the fast first impression - unboxed it about 10 minutes ago.

Happy to hear that you received my ukulele before you leave.
String is made in China not Aquila.
I have tested with Aquila and found Made in China looks better for my plastic ukulele
maybe Aquila has better sound with other brand ukes but, not for my plastic uke.

Got mine updated one today. Looks like some good improvements over the prototype. I only had time to noodle with it to stetch out the strings a bit, had to meet with someone to sell a flea and I got a serious 300W bass combo amp delivered today. Hopefully tomorrow I can compare the two a bit more closely (did I mention I'm also sick?)

Nice review, Daniel! I also received mine yesterday. I was pretty floored on the first strum...amazed by how good it sounds. I'll get a video review and blog review up in the next week.
