Another Kinnard Build :)

My Kinnard build is up a running!

It has been a pleasure to work with Kevin. I have sent endless emails and learned much about wood combos, just a great experience thus far.

Top Material: Red Cedar
Back and Sides: Honduran Rosewood
Binding: Curly Koa
Rosette: 3 rings
Bridge: Rosewood
Sound port: yes
Neck: Mahogany

Paddle Headstock
Face place: Honduran Rosewood
Logo: Gold
Tuners: Gotoh UPT black
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Side markers: (double dots 7th and 12th)
Nut and Saddle: bone
Finish: High Gloss

I was looking for warm with some sparkle and this wood combo seemed to be the ticket. However, all the Kinnard sound samples were excellent.

It would appear that one of the secrets of the Kinnard sound is building 90 degrees from vertical.

This seems to be the case. The pics are right-side up when I get them and then spin 90 degrees when I attach them, go figure.

Actually, Hodge, I think I've figured out John's methodology. He actually arranges the molecules in such a way that the (valence?) bond that holds the atoms together is actually tightened. In order to move all the atoms closer, he needs his magnifying glasses. This technique accounts for the remarkable tightness in details. : )

David, that back figuring is wonderful. Love to watch this. Thanks.
