IMGP2537.jpgfinally got around to photographing some of my ukuleles.
Mainly Martins and Kumalaes, with a couple of Akais thrown in.
Best sounding? Probably an early 2M Martin, although the Akais are pretty good.
Most valuable? The plain Kumalae soprano on the extreme left of the photo. It belonged to my Grandmother, who played it in a hawaiian trio here in Australia in the 1920s.
when i was a kid,it hung on her living room wall, and i was always trying to drag a chair over to get at it,but she never let me take it down.
When she died, she left it to me in her will.
Market value? maybe $400.
I wouldnt take ten times that for it.IMGP2539.jpg

They're beautiful! It's so nice to see them all out like that. How do you store them? Do you keep them in cases, or hung up in a humidified room? Do they all get played?

Great collection, nice story. Thanks for sharing

wow, beautiful! envious.....

Very beautiful. I think my vote has to go to your Grandmother's uke. It is beautiful and also has a beautiful story.
