Ukulelian? Were I to emigrate to another country, I'd call myself a ukulelian.

I propose a new word for things pertaining to ukes ... ucal. Borrowed from duke and ducal.

I know, I know ...

*groan*

If you spelled it "ukel" (taken from "yokel"), then I'd go for it.

I vote for "Ukulist" (pronounced "you coolest").

If a piano is played by a pianist
and a cello is played by a cellist
and a tuba is played by a tubist, (pattern emerging?) then
a ukulele must be played by a ukulelist. But that's a mouthful, so I say.......

UKULIST!

Funny enough...my roommate and I had this exact discussion about a week ago. :)

Right. The formula is: Remove the last letter and add "ist". Got it!

But then again...

A violin is played by a violinist
A guitar is played by a guitarist
A harp is played by a harpist

So if the last letter is a consonant, don't drop it. Fine. But then there's...

An oboe is played by an oboeist
A piccolo is played by a piccoloist

Okay, so if it ends with an "oh" sound don't drop anything either. Great.

Drums are played by a drummer
Trumpets are played by a trumpeter

Grrrrr... What's the rule here? If there's a "rum" sound in there, user "er" instead of "ist"? I can work with that. Maybe.

A flute is played by a flautist

Oh, I give up.
