I just finished this Tenor. A nice clear sound with Lanikai Aquilas.

Please confirm that this was made with a tambourine? I don't find tambourines that lack the jingle-thingys. Not sure what you would do with the holes left from them.
 
I only scavenged parts from the tambourines (head, tension hoop, bracket shoes and tension hooks). I used a headless drum shell for the rim. I used a hand drum that didn't have jingles for my first banjolele which are available. BTW the tambourines weren't wasted. The grand kids are enjoying them as headless tambourines.
 
I wouldn't have done the overlay but Fender has the supplier of these salvage Fenders grind the logo off. This one was really ground deep. I happened to have a tortoise "duck" pick guard that was just big enough to cover the headstock. Its an acoustic guitar "peel and stick" so I'm not sure how long it will stay stuck.
 
Well, I just found out that Martin strings aren't long enough for a banjolele with the Fender headstock.
