Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to get in touch with fellow UU member and master of the home-made ukulele, Daniel Hulbert (<--click his name to see his profile, and you can send him a private message from this profile page), and you can also check the threads he has created on the forum by clicking here.

On Feb 13, 2014 he had a thread with a demo video and offering of free plans for a solid-body electric uke. You can see it here:

http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?93014-Free-Electric-Ukulele-Plans

You can also see many of his designs, and some with free plans on his blog here:

http://circuitsandstrings.wordpress.com/

Additionally, he has demos of his instruments and a few build walk-throughs on his youtube here:

Tell him Booli from UU sent you.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the plugs Booli. :)

Novakaine, if you have any questions just let me know. The plans I developed don't look like a Les Paul, but you could pick some ideas and pointers for building your own. Body and neck shapes are easy to change once you have the main ideas.

Solid body electric Ukelele

Hey thanks, I've done just that.
The problem is being my first time after I got the body shape figured out.
I told myself hmmm what now?
I plan on purchasing a premade fretboard and neck for some bolt on action.
But what I really would like is some plans or a blueprint that I can print out to copy.
That would help greatly.
I have body shapes rough cut for a Les and a Tele.
Just needing some guidance for here.
Pictures to follow.

Novakaine,

by getting the fretboard and neck pre-made, and cutting a body, it sounds like you have obviated the need for 'plans' per se.

What 'guidance' are you looking for? You need to be as specific as possible. It does not matter if you dont know what the things are called, just described them as you see them.

If you need a refresher on the anatomy of an ukulele, in order to name the parts, see these pages:

http://www.ukuleletricks.com/ukulele-anatomy-the-parts-of-the-ukulele/

http://www.ianchadwick.com/ukuleles/anatomy.htm

You can find all kinds of pickup wiring diagrams on stewmac.com, and there are literally millions of places online that can instruct you on the scale length and where to install and place the bridge on the body once you mount the neck and measure from the nut for the scale length - not the least of which are the free plans that Daniel has offered as a PDF file.

Have you LOOKED at this PDF file?

Did you watch the video of Daniel's solid-body uke demo, that I linked for you above in a previous post?

It would be nice if you could confirm if you have seen AND understand these or not, and then we can know your point of reference.

You would more useful answers if you could be more interactive and specific in your posts with regard to the information that we have been trying to share with you.

We are trying to help you, but you need to provide better information.

Hey thank you so much for the info, got myself a bit overwhelmed but I think I'm on the way now.
Oh it was dumb things like.
"Well where do I put the neck?"
Then I had a duh moment and it dawn on me.
"Well that goes on the center line of your shape."
"Like I said a duh moment."
Thanks again.

Check out moongazermusic.com. He should have everything you need. I've built a bunch of Les Paul style ukes and mandolins so if you need some help let me know but I'd suggest you get a copy of Melvyn Hiscocks book on designing and building a solid bodied instrument.
