Hi everyone,

I went to Toys R Us recently, and found they sell 1/8 guitars for £15 (I'm in the UK.) It's pretty much a 6 string soprano, but I can't seem to find any strings suitable for it.

Does anyone know of some strings I could use, or if any guitar players are lurking, any alternative? Thanks,

LaBella makes strings for an 1/4 guitar, you might look and see if they have a smaller set.
You are probably going to have a hard time tuning such a short scale to EADGBE.
You will most likely have better results tuning to ADGCEA.

A 1/8 guitar has about a 17 inch scale, like a tenor uke or a guitar-uke, guilele, guitalele ... So guitalele strings should work. It would then be tuned A to A.

Cheers for that, I will look into that.

Having fiddled with it, it became apparent it's got a scale length smaller than a soprano, haven't measured it but it's definitely smaller.

Would getting steel strings help?
